Amy Robach graduated Brookwood in 1991. While at Brookwood, she was heavily involved in the theatre program, even dropping cheerleading to participate in theatre. The program is headed up by her aunt and uncle who do an outstanding job in helping Brookwood students to become their best.
She started her career by graduating from the University of Georgia's communication program. She then went on to work in Athens and then spent several years in Chareleston. She then headed to D.C where she became an a.m. anchor.
She then made it to MSNBC. In order to make it this far, she had to sacrafice alot in the beginning, including working on holidays and excessive work weeks. She now has a husband and w kids. She is thankful for the help of her nanny. Amy still loves to come home to Snellville. Her family still lives in the Brookwood Community.
This is yet another example of why moving into the Brookwood High School district is a great opportunity for your children.
Congratulations to the Brookwood Boys Swim team for winning the State Championnship. The girls placed 2nd in the state. Click for the full story.
Congratulations to Brookwood's Robert Nelson, as he was chosen as an Emerson Scholar for the 2008 Interlochen Arts Camp. He is one of 52 musicians that were awarded this merit-based, full-tuition (over 6,000)scholarship to the camp.
On Saturday, March 29, 2008, the Brookwood Science Olympiad Team claimed its first ever state title. Our team finished with a score 136 points, averaging fifth place in all the events. In an extremely competitive field containing at least 3 math and science magnet schools, 6 private schools, and Parkview, the five time defending state champs, we finished 52 points ahead of the second place. The complete dominance was evident as we earned medals an amazing 12 times in 23 events, while competing against a total of 30 schools. By finishing 1st in the state we won the right to represent Georgia at the National Science Olympiad at George Washington University in Washington, DC on May 30-31, 2008.
